Grandma Salmon's Birthday

Sunday, December 7th was mom's - Grandma's Birthday so we all meet at my house for the big celebration, she probably hate's her birthday this month along with her anniversary on the 16th. We try not to mesh it together with Christmas but somehow we always manage to throw a little party-giftexchange into the mixture (sorry mom).
We ate chicken balls for dinner requested by her. Stephanie made a nummy peppermint ice cream dessert.

Travis had th idea of going around the circle while we ate and say something we love about mom-grandma, some of the things said were we love that she buy's us stuff, which she always is surprising them with little gifts, others said her unconditional love for us and the grandkids. She is always making time for us especially when we call at the last second, She will drop everything just to help out. She definatly is the most unselfish person I know and there is no way we would survive this raising kid stuff without her. WE LOVE YOU MOM!

Decorating the Tree

Well after a week, I can finally say the tree is done (until it tips over) which it did last year. We finally got smart and braced it with fishing line. So it took Travis and I about 8 hours to put on the lights (3000 lights) then we let the boys decorate from about the bottom third down. They are so excited about it and I am already dreading taking it down.

CUTTING DOWN THE TREE

Well we did it again, we managed to find the biggest tree ever (that would fit in our family room, 18ft tall) and we cut it down. It is a pretty big task. Every year I try to talk myself out of getting such a big tree but for some insane reason I seem to end up with one anyway. Oh well when it is all said and done I guess it is worth it. Right? We did have quiet the day driving to the Unitas, the streets were covered with black ice, that made it fun while pulling a 16ft trailer with four wheelers on the back. By the end of the day I think we avoided about a dozen car accidents and we ended up getting towed about 4 times, there were cars off the road everywhere, and a 7 car pileup right in front of us, it made for some good memories.
We went with our neighbors the Finch's and the Moons, both of their first time to cut down a tree for Christmas (hopefully not their last) It has been a family tradition of ours for quiet some time now and it really is a lot of fun.

HE FINALLY DID IT!!!

Liam finally took his first steps. Travis was sure it was not going to happen until Christmas, but Liam proved him wrong. Now he is walking everywhere. I'm not to sure how excited I am about this, the other day I could not find him anywhere, so I went upstairs and found him sitting in the toilet. So typical of him. I was worried for I minute that I would not be able to get him out. As soon as I did he tried to climb back in.

The boys have been off track now for a few weeks so I have been busy trying to keep them busy, A few of the activity's we have done are the Clark Planetarium, the Sweets candy factory, (Grandma Salmon went with us there is no way I would have stayed sane without her, Thanks mom.) and the Solomon center where they golfed and bowled with my friend Julie's kids. It has been long but fun.

THE NEWEST FANS OF THE SALT LAKE REAL SOCCER TEAM!

SO WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SO JEALOUS OF THE FUN THAT OUR FRIENDS THE FINCH'S HAVE HAD GOING TO THE SALT LAKE REAL SOCCER GAMES, SO I FINALLY ASKED BRAD TO GET US SOME TICKETS TO THE NEXT GAME AND OF CORSE HE MADE IT HAPPEN! WE HAD A TOTAL BLAST LAST NIGHT AT THE GAME. THEY EVEN MANAGED TO PULL OFF A WIN IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MINUTES IT WAS SO EXCITING. I AM SURE THAT WAS THE FIRST OF MANY GAMES TO COME AT LEAST WE HOPE SO, IF THE FINCH'S DON'T GET TO SICK OF US BY THEN. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE FINH'S OUR LIVES WOULD BE SO BORING WITHOUT THEM.

Halloween 2008

So I've decided I am NOT a fan of Trunk Or Treating, anyone who was around me that night will testify of that. My bad mood started when we were all trying to get to the church by 5:30 so our chili could be judged (how stupid) anyway, Jace started crying that his mummy costume was wrapped too tight by Travis who was trying to hurry too fast, so Travis was yelling at Jace and I was yelling at Travis for ruining Jace's Halloween. Jaron was Hot gluing his glowstick costume together.
Luke was running over to the church alone, and Liam was just sitting there crying.
So we finally get there and no one is there. (nice) so then I was more mad. By the time they started an hour later my kids wouldn't eat the cold stuck together mac and cheese. What a mess of a night!

So I decided to keep my boys home from school the day of Halloween. I had been wanting to take them to Kennecott copper mine all summer and we never made it so we finally went. We all had a fun time.

Last Night was the BOMB! all the hard work finally payed off. Ranae, Kayla and I have been planning this party for weeks, it is so nice to have it over so we can get back to being moms. It is amazing how much work goes into planning something like this. So Travis and I went as Juno and Paulie Bleaker from the movie Juno it was hilarious we even won the best couple award we got a Barbecue Grill! but I have to say the Finch's should have taken it, I am still laughing about their costumes, (White Trash couple) they couldn't have done it better Brad even shaved the top of his head bald. You should have seen him at church today it was so funny!

One Of The Funnest Weeks Of Our Lives

Travis And I just got back from one of the best weeks ever! We had the most incredible week as you can see. It was a week well needed and much deserved, well I think so anyway.
We took a eastern carribean cruise with some of our best friends in the world, the Finch's (Brad and Ranae) There is not a better couple to be stuck with for a week. We did enough laughing that week to last a lifetime. I had a huge ajustment coming home to reality, there is nothing better than being waited on hand and foot for a whole week someone to cook and clean and even entertain you.
Some of the highlights were witnessing Brad in his speedo on Trunk Bay, Having Brad win the $1,000 dollar bingo, eating, eating, and eating again. Sleeping for however long we wanted. Having Ranae and I show up one day in the same swimming suit with no idea we even had the same suit. Trying to enjoy a peaceful lunch on a private beach with an Iguanna crawing on and around us. The list goes on and on but for now our memories with have to last until the next adventure with the Finch's.

Thanks Brad and Ranae for the best week ever!!!

Liam's 1st birthday

Most parents are sad the day their last baby turns 1, But Travis and I both celebrated along with Liam. Liam's first year was not the funnest or easiest. He has been our hardest and sickest baby. I feel like our lives have been on hold ever since he was born. Things have gotten a little better ever since he had his adenoids
taken out and tubes put in his ears. Hopefully this will be a better year. He is not walking yet which is OK with me except for how dirty he always gets especially outside, I was trying to do a little yard work yesterday, I turned around to see Liam sitting in a pile of mud. No one needs to wonder now why my life is so crazy.

Our First Remote controled Airplane

Do you like to fly airplane's well me and my cousin do. Today we worked for our grandpa and he bought us a remote control airplane. It took us 2 hours to put it together and adjust the controler. Then we took it outside to fly it. I threw the plane in the air and it did a barrelroll then nose dived into the asphalt. All our hard work had gone to waste. But we were able to fix it and try it again. Then my cousin threw the plane. It crashed again!!! So what did we do? We fixed it with duct tape and tried again. We got it to fly but as we got it to fly the plane dove striaght down in to a field with sprinklers on. The water was so cold. We knew we had to prove to our grandpa that this was not a cheap piece of junk. So we put more duct tape on the plane and tryed again. My cousin ran as fast as he could and threw the plane. The plane aka the yellow bee now not yellow any more from all the electrical, and duct tape with a splash of super glue. After many more attempts we got the plane to fly( again). It was working so great when it slowly lost alltitude and crashed into a fence. It turned out that the battery was dead. Or else the plane would have stayed in the air longer. But of course we could not stop our bad luck.

A Mother of Boys

I don't like dirt and constant loud noise,
So how could I become a Mother of all boys?
Our laundry is colorful, blue green and red,
But this time I was hoping for pink or purple instead.

I always imangined I'd have one or two girls,
in her special "spin dress" dark hair full of curls.
I bought little outfits, hairclips and bows,
Fabric for quilts that for her I would sew.

Then the day came, and we saw on the screen,
There would be no pink, just more red, blue and green.
"How could this be?" I thought in my mind,
That is definatly not what I thought they would find.

I cried many tears, and for days it was rough,
I packed away dreams with the pink girly stuff.
Then one day I realized the fun and the joys,
That would come to a Mother of 4 handsome boys.

I was already blessed as a mother with three,
How much more fun would one more boy be?
We won't break the bank buying everything new,
I've saved the boys clothes and all their church shoes.

I'll still be the Queen of the castle here,
And the first girl they loved till their teenage years.
The three I have are the best I could wish for,
And I know that will be with sweet boy number four.

I can now look back, and often I think,
"Why was I so set on purple and pink?
I would not trade money for the constant loud noise,
That comes with the blessing of being a mother of boys!
